18/5/2006 - New dates for Scotby School hearing

The hearing of the dispute between the board of governors at Scotby School and the school's suspended head teacher, Ian Mackay, will take place between the 8th and the 27th of June.

Both parties in the dispute have agreed to the dates following the joint request to the county council to adjourn the hearing which had originally been set to last for five days between May 18th and 24th.

Cumbria County Council agreed to help resolve the dispute as an independent party. The council's legal team made it clear to both sides that this matter needed  to be resolved as soon as possible in the best interests of the school, its staff and children. The disciplinary hearing will now be held before the end of this school term.
