A new mother and toddler group in Workington will open its doors tomorrow (Tuesday 31 October) with a Halloween themed morning of fun and play.
Northside Nappies in Northside, will be running every Tuesday morning between 10 and 11.30am. Parents will be able to bring their children along and have a coffee and a chat with other families from the area.
The 'Story Sacs lady', Jean Griffiths from the library, will be a regular visitor to the group. She will be at next Tuesday's opening session where the children will also be able have a go at making Halloween masks and hats.
The new group, based at Northside community centre, has been organised by Julie Wardle and Julia Fyrth with the help and support of Derwent and Solway Housing.
Eileen Teasdale, a development worker with Sure Start in West Cumbria, has also been involved. She said:
"Everyone has worked very hard to get the group up and running.
"We hope that it will have a real impact on the Northside community by offering both children and adults a regular place and time where they can meet and socialise."
The cost is £2.50 per session
