7/8/2007 - Chance to quiz Sainsbury developers at special neighbourhood forum

Currock residents will be able to hear more, and ask questions, about the proposals for a new Sainsbury store on Currock Road at a special neighbourhood forum next Monday (13 August).

The meeting, starting at 6.30pm, is at Currock House Community Centre on Lediard Avenue.

Following the announcement last week, the Currock forum has arranged for representatives from Macdonald Estates Group and Sainsbury to come along to the meeting to present proposals regarding the redevelopment of the Rickerby site.

This will be an opportunity for local people to find out exactly what is planned for the site, and also ask questions of Neil Galloway, the Development Manager with Macdonald Estates group, and Sainsbury.

County councillor Heather Bradley will be chairing the meeting, which will also include applications for neighbourhood forum grants.

Currock Neighbourhood Forum is one of 16 in the Carlisle area; they are run jointly by Cumbria county and Carlisle city councils.

For further information on Monday's forum and other up and coming Currock forums, contact Paul Carrigan, area support officer at Cumbria County Council. Telephone 01228 601054 or email paul.carrigan@cumbriacc.gov.uk

There are over 60 neighbourhood forums throughout the county.
