28/8/2007 - Solway Coast Neighbourhood Forum goes on its travels

The Solway Coast Neighbourhood Forum is taking to the road in a bid to give as many people as possible a chance to help shape the next phase of Allonby and Holme St Cuthbert's first community travel plan.

Community travel plans look at local travel needs for people living and working in communities for now and in the future.

Residents and local community groups can have their say about local travel and transport issues and work towards reducing the impact of travel on their quality of life.

On Monday 10 September, the Forum will begin its journey at Allonby Village Hall where, from 6:15pm to 7:00pm, people will be asked to prioritise the list of traffic and travel improvements they would like to see.

From 7:15pm to 8:00pm it will be the turn of people at Holme St Cuthbert's Parish Rooms to have their say on the new plan.

Here, people will also have an opportunity to announce local information, meeting dates etc. and to hear about recent applications for Community Grants.

Free Fairtrade refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome. Please call Neighbourhood Development Officer Pat Ackred on 01900-325013 if you require further information.
