14/2/2007 - South Whitehaven Neighbourhood Forum

Whitehaven's St. Peter's Parish Hall is the venue for the next Hillcrest and Hensingham Neighbourhood Forum on Wednesday 21 February, at 7:00pm.

The meeting gets under way with the chance to question Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service about plans to build a new fire station in Whitehaven which will include new community facilities and allow faster response times in areas of the town that risk-mapping shows need a higher level of fire cover.

There will then be a talk by Cumbria County Council's Maggie Mason on work on the council's draft minerals, waste development framework. The preferred sites for household waste recycling in the Whitehaven area will also be discussed.

Feedback on issues raised at previous Forums will be given, plus an opportunity to listen to representatives from local groups applying to the forum for a grant, to share or publicise any local information and raise any other issues.

Free refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome. Please call Neighbourhood Development Officer Dave Smith 01900-855023 if you require additional information.
