A chance to get passionate about romantic literature is in store for budding readers and writers who attend this year's Write Read event organised by Cumbria County Council's Library Service.
Bassenthwaite's Higham Hall is the venue for the event which takes place from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday 14 July.
Romantic fiction is the theme for this year's day-long reading and writing extravaganza, which offers those attending the chance to rub shoulders with some of the region's best authors and poets.
People with a passion for words can take part in readings, discussions and workshops with literary luminaries James Nash, Phillipa Ashley, Linda Gillard, Anna Louse Lucia and Roger Sanderson.
Councillor Roger Bingham, cabinet member responsible for Cumbria's Library Service, said: "This is a wonderful opportunity for people to indulge their love of literature and pick up some useful writing tips from some of the best writers and poets in the region."
The cost of the day is £25 and includes lunch and free entry in a special literary quiz with the chance to win a £20 book token. Booking forms can be picked up from local libraries and must be returned no later than Tuesday 10 July. Places are limited so early booking is advisable.
