A series of recommendations on how to plan services for adults with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) in Cumbria Cumbria have been made in a new report.
The report, 'Are we Ready?' has been produced by Cumbria County Council's and the Adult Social Care Scrutiny Panel. The scrutiny report lays out a number of proposals on how to meet the expected increase in demand for adult ASD support services.
County councillor Duncan Fairbairn, vice chairman of the Adult Social Care Scrutiny Panel and a member of the task group responsible for producing the report, said:
"The task group came up with some important recommendations. We found some good examples of current support service for adults with complex ASD and this report is intended to help build upon these."
The county council's cabinet will respond to the report at its next meeting in Carlisle on 3 July.
