6/3/2007 - Page to open on Penrith Library book sale

Book lovers are in for a treat this weekend when Penrith Library hosts its grand book sale.

Hundreds of old library books, which have been removed from shelves to make way for new titles, will be on offer at the event which is being run by the Marie Currie charity .

Bargain book hunters will be able to browse through children's books, adult literature, hard-cover and paperback during the sale which takes place on Saturday 10 March, from 9:30am to 4:00pm, and on Sunday 11 March, from 12:00noon to 3:00pm.

Proceeds from the event will be shared between Marie Currie and Cumbria County Council's Library Service.

Registered charities can get more information on how to organise their own sale of old library books by contacting Penrith Library on: 01768-242100.
