8/3/2007 - Rydal garden restoration and World Heritage Site status on the agenda at Lakes Neighbourhood Forum on Tuesday, March 13th

The next meeting of the Lakes Neighbourhood Forum will take place at 7.30pm on Tuesday, March 13th.

Items on the agenda include an outline of the process involved in the Lake District bidding for Workd Heritage Site status given by Shaun Gorman, Cumbria County Council chairman of the group co-ordinating preparation of the bid. Mr Gorman will be happy to take questions on the issues.

On a more local level, Tom Attwood, Head Gardener at Rydal Hall, will describe the work going on to restore and develop the hall's gardens. He will also focus on the community garden project and explain how people can get involved.

Before the main speakers appear, updates will be given on issues raised at previous forums including the Ambleside Climate Change project; student accommodation query; Chapel Stile & Elterwater Community Travel Plan, National Park issues and work and Grasmere Village Society.

Finally, there will be the opportunity to share or publicise any local information and raise any other issues.

The Lakes Forum serves the Lakes Wards of Ambleside, Grasmere, Langdale, Rydal & Loughrigg and Troutbeck .
