Firefighters, backroom staff and members of the public have been recognised for their commitment to public safety at Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service's first ever awards ceremony.
Funded by Washington Group International, the Together Towards Success Awards saw tribute paid to some of the hundreds of people whose dedication and innovation have helped Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service drive down fire injuries and deliver key road safety messages to young people across the county.
The winners in each of the twelve award categories were chosen by an independent panel of judges drawn from Cumbria County Council, Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service and Washington Group International with the winners announced on the night.

Councillor Elizabeth Barraclough, cabinet member responsible for Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service who presented awards at the event, said: "The Together Towards Success Awards are all about paying tribute to some of the hundreds of dedicated Cumbrians who work with and for the county's Fire and Rescue Service.
Cumbria's Chief Fire Officer Dominic Harrison, said: "This was an excellent opportunity to recognise some of the outstanding contributions which personnel and members of the public have made to the work of the Fire and Rescue Service.
"I think everyone who attended the event was particularly impressed by the contributions made by members of the public who have often overcome personal adversity to provide help and advice for others. We are also very grateful to Washington Group International whose support made this event possible."
Iain Irving, West Cumbria Director of Operations for Washington Group International, said: "Washington Group is committed to safety as its number one priority throughout its operations.
"But we know that it cannot be taken for granted and outstanding safety performance is only achieved through the commitment of every person concerned. So we are delighted to honour these teams who have led the way in keeping their communities safe."
