Cumbria County Council has mapped out a way of helping families who are struggle with tired looking turkey and passé pullovers by the time Boxing Day rolls around.
Getting out of the house for a bracing walk has long been a staple cure for the Boxing Day blues and now Kendal, Carlisle, Barrow, Workington, Whitehaven and Penrith libraries can help families prepare for the seasonal ritual in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Using state of the art digital technology, the county’s six main libraries can produce personalised 1:50,000 and 1:25,000 scale Ordnance Survey maps of library goers favourite walks.
The unique maps, which make ideal Christmas presents, come with custom worded covers and can be bought either flat or folded.
The maps, which can be used in a variety of applications where a detailed up-to-date lay of the land is required, can be produced to any scale and purchased in a range of different sizes.
For more information and price details, call into one of Cumbria County Council’s six main libraries or visit the Library Service website at http://www.cumbriacc.gov.uk/libraries/
