A new county councillor has been elected for the ward of Penrith East following a by-election yesterday.
Lib Dem Patricia Anne Bell secured the seat with a 800 votes - a majority of 420.
Counting finished at 11.07pm, the turnout was 29.7%.
The results in full are:
Patricia Anne Bell (Lib Dems) 800
Dawn Dixon (Conservatives) 380
Keith Phillips (Independent) 123
Alan William Marsden (Green) 34
The by election was called following the resignation of Mike Ash.
