An important step forward in integrating services for all Cumbria's children, young people and families will take place on Thursday 6 September with the launch of Cumbria Children's Trust.
The Trust will be responsible for the planning and commissioning of services and forms part of the Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership. The partnership includes the county council, district councils, Cumbria PCT, the police and voluntary and community organisations.
You are invited to send a reporter/photographer/crew to The Courts in Carlisle at 2pm on Thursday 6 September when the signing of a protocol will mark the official launch of the Children's Trust.
There will be an opportunity to speak to the representatives signing the protocol before they go into private session for a meeting of the Partnership Board.
The two representatives with statutory responsibility are Moira Swan, Director of Children's Services at Cumbria County Council, and Councillor Philip Chappelhow, Lead Member for Children's Services at Cumbria County Council.
