3/9/2007 - Response to road accident contamination risk to be tested

A multi-agency training exercise simulating a serious traffic collision involving hazardous materials on the main A74 route between England and Scotland will take place in Carlisle on Thursday 6 September.

The training exercise, which is called Cascade V, will take place all day at the Auctioneers on Montgomery Way in Carlisle. 

Cascade V is an entirely simulated tabletop exercise. There will be no 'on the ground' activity with all monitoring and off-site features simulated. 

The exercise, which will test multi-agency response arrangements and the way cross-border agencies work together in an emergency, will start at 9.30am and is expected to last until 4:00pm.
