Cumbria County Council will be holding a media briefing to outline details of a proposed improvement package for council-run residential homes for older people.
The briefing will be held on Tuesday 2 October at 11:00am in the conference room of the council's Adult Social Care & Health headquarters at 15 Portland Square, Carlisle.
The package has been drawn up with the help of six local working groups chaired by Age Concern representing each part of the county and will be considered by the county council's cabinet at its next meeting on 9 October.
The cabinet member responsible for Adult Social & Health, Oliver Pearson and the department's Corperate Director Jill Stannard will be joining Cumbria Primary Care Trust's Director of Public Affairs Ross Forbes and Joanna Leith, Director of Carlisle and District Age Concern, in discussing the proposals.
