9/4/2008 - Temporary disruption to Barrow Record Office and Local Studies Library services

Barrow Record Office and Local Studies Library will be operating a reduced service during the week commencing 28 April 2008. This is to enable essential maintenance work to be undertaken to drains and toilets.

Space will be limited and an appointment system will be operating during the disruption. Members of the public should telephone the Barrow Record Office and Local Studies Library before visiting, on 01229-894377.

Maps, including Ordnance Survey maps, will not be available at any time during this period due to space limitations.

Services will be particularly disrupted on Monday 28 April. No original archives will be available on this day. Microfilms and local studies material only will be available from a temporary service point in the reference section of Barrow Library. People are strongly advised to book in advance if they wish to use this service.
