Longtown’s Pear Tree Nursery is set to unveil its new classroom tomorrow (17 June).
Photographers are invited to the nursery (located next to Longton Primary School, Mary Street) at 9:00am for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Consent has been arranged for a photo opportunity involving children at the nursery who will be taking part in the ceremony.
The purpose-built classroom, which has been paid for through an Awards for All lottery grant, has more space for the nursery’s pre-school children to brush up on their numeracy and literacy skills.
Children will also be able to use the room for role-play sessions and other learning activities.
The refurbished area will help the nursery meet new play-based learning requirements in the curriculum.
