Residents of Longtown & Bewcastle will have another opportunity to discuss how they want public services to be delivered in their community at a Neighbourhood Forum in the Longtown Community Centre on Wednesday 12 March at 7pm.
The Longtown Moving Forward public consultation, a Cumbria County Council and Carlisle City Council project examining future uses of public buildings including Lochinvar school, will be top of the agenda at the Neighbourhood Forum.
At the beginning of this month 1,100 households received newsletters about Longtown Moving Forward and also learned more about how to use new discussion packs which are aimed at prompting debate on Longtown's services. Posters and signs are also being displayed in the town to encourage people to have their say.
The project will lead to a set of recommendations on the services to be provided and the property that supports service delivery in Longtown which will be considered by both councils later in the year.
The public meeting is open to all residents of the Longtown & Bewcastle area including the parishes of Arthuret, Bewcastle, Hethersgill, Kingmoor, Kirkandrews-on-Esk, Kirklinton Middle, Nicholforest, Rockcliffe, Solport, Stapleton and Westlinton.
