30/3/2008 - Registering the changes at Carlisle Register Office

A new Superintendent Registrar has taken the helm at Carlisle Register Office.

Susan Slater, who previously worked as a Registrar at the Registration Service's Portland Square office, has taken on the new role while the city’s current Superintendent Registrar, Louse McKenna, is away on maternity leave.

Cumbria Registration Service conduct marriages, civil partnerships, renewals of vows and civil naming ceremonies as well as registering births and deaths. The service is also the custodian of records dating back to July 1837 when Registration began.

More information on these and other services provided by the county council's Registration Service are available online at http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/registration/
