24/11/2008 - Candidates named for Kells and Sandwith by-election

Three candidates have been named to stand for the vacant position of county councillor for the ward of Kells and Sandwith in Copeland in a by-election to be held on Thursday December 18th.

Nominations closed at noon on Friday November 21st. The following candidates have now been confirmed:
 
Brigid Anne Whiteside (Conservative Party) Wendy Skillicorn (Labour Party) Simon Nicholson (British National Party)

The by-election was called following the death of Cllr Joe McAllister in July 2008. He was Labour councillor for Kells and Sandwith since 1995.
