Residents in Sedbergh and Windermere are being given help in keeping warm this winter with roadshows to highlight how they can help themselves.
The Keeping You Warm and Well roadshows will be handing out free packs including advice and contacts as well as practical items such as Carbon Monoxide detectors, room thermometers, and thermal mugs.
Advice will be centred on grants and energy saving measures to help residents save money and keep warm through the cold winter months.
Warm Front, a government funded initiative to make homes more energy efficient; EAGA, providers of residential energy efficiency solutions; and pensions and welfare experts will be just some of the people on hand to offer advice on both days.
Locals are invited to attend the first session at Windermere fire station, Ellerthwaite Road, on 2 December from midday to 4:30pm. Residents in Sedbergh and the surrounding area will have their chance to get advice at the Long Lane fire station in Sedbergh from midday to 4:30pm on 3 December.
The roadshows are a multi-agency approach to helping people keep warm this winter and are being run by Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, NHS Cumbria, South Lakeland District Council and several volunteer services in South Lakeland.
At both roadshows there will be refreshments and a free prize draw, come along, have a chat and start keeping warm and saving money!
