27/11/2008 - Cartmel Carol Service : Cumbria County Council

Hundreds of pupils from schools in South Cumbria will come together to stage the first ever Cartmel Peninsula Schools Carol Service. (Wednesday 3rd December, 1.30pm) The event will be held in the historic surroundings of the 12th century Cartmel Priory.
Four hundred youngsters will be taking part. Schools include Lindale, Allithwaite, Leven Valley, Cartmel, Grange and Flookburgh primary schools and Cartmel Priory secondary school.
It's hoped the carol service will become an annual event and provide a memorable experience for youngsters from small rural schools.
The Priory will be decked out with festive decorations and a Christmas tree.
The service is part of the Sing Up activities happening across Cumbria.
