Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service will be staging a simulated road crash rescue in Cleator Moor tomorrow (Friday 24th October.)
The Fire Service aims to highlight the need for more driver awareness on the roads, particularly as the clocks go back this weekend. Many motorsists will return from work in darkness for the first time since last winter which traditionally results in more accidents.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service will be in Cleator Moor all day with various events going on in including chip pan fire demonstrations and the road crash rescue simulation in the town square from 1.30pm.
Fire Fighters will demonstrate how they remove crash victims from the wreckage of a mangled vehicle.
The operation may take up to twenty minutes.
Friday's events are part of a series of week long activities in Cleator Moor as part of the 'Together We Can' initiative.
The scheme aims to help, promote and advise ways of changing communities for the better.
