11/2/2009 - Young people in Cumbria major survey findings - media invite

Results will be revealed tomorrow (Thursday 12th February) into findings of extensive research into the health of young people in Cumbria.

The study involved two thousand pupils, aged from nine to fifteen years old, from schools throughout the county in 2008.

The results will give a detailed picture of the attitudes of young people from drugs and alcohol to bullying and safety.

The report was commissionsed by the County Council's Cumbria Healthy Schools and the Drug and Alcohol Action team.

The data will be used by various agencies to influence a wide range of policies.

Speakers include Cumbria Healthy Schools Manager Mike Telford and Cumbria County Council's Drugs Education Co-ordinator Alan Tarn.

The findings will be revealed at Cumbria Rural Enterprise Ageny (CREA), Redhills, Penrith (0945-1230.) Copies of the results will be made available on the day.

There will be opportunities to interviews various speakers.
