12/2/2009 - Highways improvements for Cockermouth

Work to improve pedestrian safety on a stretch of busy road in Cockermouth is set to go ahead on Monday (February 16).

Cumbria Highways will be installing a traffic island and dropped crossing points on the Low Road approach to the mini roundabout at the junction with Gote Road. The mini roundabout will also be resurfaced at the same time.

During the course of the work, which could last for around two weeks, three-way traffic lights will be installed on the mini roundabout to ensure the scheme is carried out safely and with minimum disruption.
