Cumbria's six main libraries are holding a series of cartoon workshops starting in the half-term holidays.
The sessions will be held by Cumbrian cartoonist, author and illustrator, Colin Shelbourn and are suitable for all ages and abilities - from absolute beginners who haven't held a pencil in years to more practised cartoonists.
The workshops will look at the basic skills of cartoon drawing, how to devise your own cartoon characters and animals and how to generate jokes. They link in with the Every Picture Tells a Story project that has been running in local libraries from March encouraging people to reflect on the power of images to convey messages.
