The Casualty Bureau that police were running in response to the Cumbria Floods has been closed after all 398 people reported as unaccounted for were located by officers.

Members of the public were able to call the bureau if they were concerned about friends or relatives in Cumbria who they were unable to contact.

A team of our police officers, detectives and police staff, with help from colleagues from Greater Manchester Police, were responsible for locating and speaking to the individuals concerned, and used a number of techniques, including contacting people via social networking sites, to locate the people.

Anyone with continuing concerns about people in Cumbria following the floods should contact Cumbria Police on 0845 33 00 247.
