25/11/2009 - Business as Usual for MRTs in Cumbria

Mountain Rescue Teams in Cumbria, who have been part of the emergency response since the flooding started last Thursday, have now stood down from the heightened state of readiness that they adopted yesterday in case last night's weather system brought further flooding.

A spokesman for the Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association, said: "Team members have now had time to ready their equiptment and infrastructure and are now responding to mountain rescues on the fells in the normal way."
