An emergency household waste centre is opening in Cockermouth tomorrow (Saturday) to help people dispose of any household items damaged by the floods.
The Cumbria County Council run site at the old depot on Sullart Street, will be open daily between 10am and 3pm from tomorrow (Saturday November 28) until Saturday December 12.
All flood damaged household waste will be accepted including:
* Doors and fencing
* Furniture such as chairs, tables, sofas and beds.
* Carpets and soft furnishings.
* Electrical items including fridges, televisions and cookers.
* Standard household refuse.
* Small amounts of silt, sand and rubble from flood affected domestic properties.
Operatives will be available on site to help with the disposal of items and anybody wanting more advice or information on using the centre should call 0845 055 1118.
