23/10/2009 - Overnight resurfacing and repairs for A595 - URGENT UPDATE

Essential works on a stretch of the A595 in west Cumbria will take a further day to complete.

Work, carried out by Cumbria Highways, between Gosforth and Calderbridge, was due for completion by 6am Saturday.

But this will now be extended and the stretch of road between Newmill Farm and Boonwood Junction will close midnight Saturday to reopen 6am Sunday.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area during closure as there is no suitable diversion route.

Cumbria Highways apologises for the inconvenience.
