23/10/2009 - Photo opportunity: Green fingered gesture goes down a treat at Langrigg House

A Carlisle residential home and day centre is celebrating the opening of its new Safe Garden next week.

Langrigg House Day Centre will be holding a photo opportunity at 2pm on Wednesday October 28th.

The new garden has been tidied up ready for autumn thanks to volunteers from the Prince's Trust. They have moved the greenhouse and made it more accessible and user-friendly for service users. They have also cut back and pruned the bushes, cleared out and replanted the raised beds, put out flower pots, and re-dug and laid a centrepiece for clients and families to sit when outside.

Langrigg House manager Eileen Muir said:

"I'd like to thank the Prince's Trust for doing such a great job in tidying up the garden and making it so user-friendly for the people who live in the home and those attending the day centre. It's already having a positive impact on people, but will really come into its own next spring."
