27/10/2009 - Japanese visitors tour Carlisle primary school - media invite

Two Japanese local government officers will visit Pennine Way Primary School in Carlisle on Tuesday 3 November 2009.

They will see at first hand how schools work here compared to Japan and exchange ideas. 

Their visit to Cumbria has been organised by the County Council and the Japan Local Government Centre in London, which fosters relations between local government in the UK and Japan.

From 2011 English will be taught in prmary schools in Japan.

Media are invited to the school at 1130 Tuesday 3 November when Mr Shinya Matsuda and Mr Katsuyuki Hiramatsu will tour the premsis with headteacher Sue Blair, Cumbria County Council children's services staff and meet pupils and school staff.
