Parents are being urged to come forward to help ensure a fair school admission process for Cumbria.
The School Admissions Forum meets four times a year, currently in Penrith.
It considers arrangements for the admission of pupils to schools funded by Cumbria County Council and Academies.
Its purpose is to help ensure that these are fair and meet the needs of parents and children.
Now the county council is seeking parent volunteers to join Cumbria's School Amissions Forum and have their say on how young people should be admitted to their local school.
Keith Bates, County Manager - School Admissions, Cumbria County Council, said:
"This is an excellent opportunity for parents to suggest improvements to the admission arrangements to their local schools and academies.
Parents will have the opportunity to ensure that they are fair and meet the needs of all parents and children.
Advice and support will be given to allow parents to understand the purpose and function of the Admissions Forum, play a full and active part, and influence the decisions it makes."
To be considered for membership you must be a parent resident in Cumbria with a child who is at least two years old and is receiving primary education or is of compulsory school age.
