Planning application fees

All planning applications and applications for Certificates of Lawfulness should be submitted with a correct planning fee.  A planning application that is submitted with an incorrect fee is deemed as not being valid and may not be registered until the correct fee is provided.  If you submit a planning application online via our online submission facility the planning application fee can also be calculated by our online fees calculator and submitted online via our secure fee payment facility. Please note, there is no fee for Listed Buildings Consent Applications.

Planning fees are set out in the Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications and Deemed Applications) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2005. A full copy of the regulations and a link to the online "Fee Calculator" on the Planning Portal website can be found below.

If you require any clarification on the fee that is required for a particular application please contact the Development Control team. Before contacting the DC team, please ensure that you can provide the following information: -

  • the size of the application site (the area in which the development is to take place) in square metres or hectares
  • the type of development (what the application is for).
