This discussion paper was published in June 2006 and included background information, suggestions for the issues and options that need to be considered and a set of maps of possible sites. The consultation period for this paper was extended until the end of September 2006. A series of meetings were held during the consultation period, mostly at the Neighbourhood Forums that are part of the County Council's consultation network.
Comments were received from 356 people or organisations and these helped us to develop the preferred options which are the Council's first draft of the new plan. Consultations on the preferred options closed on 13th April 2007.
The Background Information chapters of the Discussion Paper set out the parts of the evidence base which were considered useful for discussion about the issues and options.
