Adopted Minerals and Waste Policy Documents

Cumbria County Council formally adopted the Cumbria Minerals and Waste Development Framework Core Strategy and Generic Development Control Policies Development Plan Documents on 23 April 2009. These documents apply to those areas of the county that are outside both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.

Adopted Development Plan Documents:

The Site Allocations Policies and Proposals Map were being examined by the Planning Inspectorate on behalf of the Secretary of State in spring 2012; however, during this process, the Government introduced a new development plan system.

The County Council decided that the priority should be to commence work on a new Minerals and Waste Local Plan without delay, and so withdrew the MWDF Site Allocations Policies from their examination process.

Site Allocations Policies Document submitted for examination in spring 2012 .

The Minerals and Waste Local Plan (MWLP) is now being prepared as part of the development plan system that the Government brought into effect in April 2012 (see left hand navigation bar).
