The Cumbria Minerals and Waste Development Framework Policy Documents

The Cumbria Minerals and Waste Local Plan 2015-2030 was adopted by the County Council on 6 September 2017 and therefore supersedes Cumbria Minerals and Waste Development Framework Core Strategy and Generic Development Control Policies Development Plan Documents.

Cumbria County Council formally adopted the Cumbria Minerals and Waste Development Framework Core Strategy and Generic Development Control Policies Development Plan Documents on 23 April 2009. These documents covered those areas in the county outside of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.

The Site Allocations Policies and Proposals Map were being examined by the Planning Inspectorate on behalf of the Secretary of State in spring 2012; however, during this process, the Government introduced a new development plan system. The County Council decided that the priority should be to commence work on a new Minerals and Waste Local Plan without delay, and so withdrew the MWDF Site Allocations Policies from their examination process.
