Workington’s new temporary road bridge will open on April 21 - five weeks ahead of schedule.

People in north Workington are being informed about new traffic management plans around the new temporary road bridge.

On Tuesday 9 March a 15m section of the bridge was launched over the water from the north side of the river.

Piling work on the north side of the bridge started this week and up to 25 workers will be on site over the next few days working on the embankment leading to the bridge base.
