Every year Cumbria Highways undertakes planned roadworks. Roadworks are often frustrating for road users as they can cause short-term delays, and therefore more stress for drivers and passengers.
But roadworks are essential in keeping road users safe. They also improve journeys in the long run. We do try to get the balance right - between minimal disruption and the need to regularly maintain and improve roads.
