PPI advice for leaflets and maps

St Bees leaflets

We want to produce leaflets or maps (or both!) - what should we consider?

Before you promote any routes in your parish (either in a leaflet, a map or on a parish website), it is especially important to make sure the paths are in a good condition.  A leaflet or a map is often the next step after physical improvements to the path network have been made.

We can help with the planning of necessary improvements before any promotional materials are produced. You can download our guide to Good Practice Leaflets below.

If your project involves a map, be aware that you might have to consider OS licensing - again we can give you advice here.

As a result of your hard work promoting these routes you may see they are being used more - so be prepared to inspect them more frequently than other paths in the parish.  This may include checking them at different times of year, to check for overgrowth or erosion.

And last, but not least, remember to let others know about the good work you have achieved.  Take pictures of before and after - it says so much more than words!
