Transport Direct

Transport Direct is a new web portal established by the government through the Department for Transport.

The portal is intended to provide a one-stop shop approach to national journey planning by all forms of public transport, including internal UK flights.  There is an option of making comparisons with car travel for the same journey.  Additionally, there are location finding mapping services and live travel news sections.

The portal service is free and there is a registration option to enable you to store favourite journeys and travel preferences.
