Journey Planner

The Journey Planner is an Internet-based service that allows you to plan any bus, coach, rail and ferry journey in Cumbria.  It also covers travel by rail and coach on the national networks.  Journey Planner complements the Traveline telephone service, which provides timetable and fare information and handles other journey related queries.

The link below will take you directly to the Cumbria Journey Planner website.  You can enter your intended journey start and finish point, the approximate timing of your journey and the date(s) on which you intend to travel.  You can also specify the transport modes you prefer to use.  In some cases you may be required to refine your journey start and finish points, particularly in urban areas where there are many services operating and many locations where public transport can be accessed.

If you prefer to make your enquiry by telephone, please ring 0871 200 22 33 between 7.00 a.m. and 8.00 p.m. daily.  Calls are charged at 10p per minute (national rate) during daytime - calls from mobile phones may differ.  The Traveline service is supported by a partnership of local authorities and transport operators across the region.  Other areas of the country have similar partnerships on a regional basis and they work together under the national Traveline network.  The data supporting both the Traveline phone service network and the online Journey Planner originates from the same source.
