Support Linked to Short-Term Accommodation

Cumbria County Council commissions Support Linked to Short-Term Accommodation to the following providers across the county:

  • Allerdale: Turning Point, Stonham (Home Group)

  • Barrow: Furness Homeless, Stonham (Home Group), Project John

  • Carlisle: Turning Point, Stonham (Home Group), Impact Housing Association

  • Copeland: Turning Point, Stonham (Home Group), Impact Housing Association

  • Eden: Turning Point

  • South Lakes: Stonham (Home Group), Impact Housing Association, South Lakes District Council, Springfield Voices.

What does Support Linked to Short-Term Accommodation cover?

  •   Support is linked to you as an individual rather than attached to a property
  •   Help to become more independent 
  •   Assisting in applying for benefits, budgeting and managing debt 
  •   Finding people somewhere to live and setting up home 
  •   Provide help with access to other support or community services
  •   Support to access work or training
  •   Dealing with other professionals, family and neighbours and access to advice and guidance
  •   Support to maintain health & well being
  •   Working through a pathway to independence

Who can access Support Linked to Short-Term Accommodation?

  •   Individuals over the age of 16 for young people services, and 18 for generic and domestic violence  services
  •   Reside in Cumbria
  •   Display support needs and have current issue
  •   Are willing to engage constructively with support
  •   Are homeless and in need of support
  •   Are affected by mental health issues, substance misuse and/or offending behaviour
  •   For people at risk of domestic violence

How to access Support Linked to Short-Term Accommodation:

For short term accommodation or floating support a Central Access Point referral form will need to be completed and returned to:

Cumbria Advice and Support Team, Health and Care Services, Cumbria House, 117 Botchergate, Carlisle, CA1 1RD

or faxed to 01228 221476 addressed FAO Cumbria Advice and Support Team.
