Reunion for Simon and Collette

Falklandswar veteran Simon Weston OBE was reunited with the nurse who treated his wounds on his return from the conflict.

Collette Eames, now a nurse for NHS Cumbria, met up with her former patient at a nursing conference to mark the 60th anniversary of the National Health Service. Simon gave a motivational speech to the 250 nurses who attended the event, at Rheged, which focused on the development of strong nursing leadership in the county, aspart of NHS Cumbria’s Closer to Home programme. The conference was also addressed by Chris Beasley, Chief Nursing Officer for England.
