COVID-19: Variant of concern in Cumbria - additional testing available now

COVID-19 infections are rising rapidly in Cumbria. Public Health England's proactive sequencing work, has shown that the new Delta variant of the virus is driving the increase.

Every person living in Cumbria between the ages of 12 and 30 is now strongly encouraged to get a COVID-19 test, even if they are not showing symptoms.

Local Authorities Referendums

Number of signatures required on a petition for a referendum on whether the County Council should change its governance arrangements.

Cumbria County Council is required, by The Local Authorities (Referendums) (Petitions) (England) Regulations 2011, to publish the minimum number of signatures which would be needed to support a valid petition requiring the Council to hold a referendum on whether or not it should start to operate a different form of governance.
