About Children in Care Council

Children in Care Council (CiCC) is a group of care-experienced young people between 11-18 years old.  We try our best to represent all of Cumbria's children in care and therefore make a difference to the lives of others.  CiCC members are crucial in making sure that children and young people's voices are heard.
Any care experienced young person from age 11 to 18 can join. It's absolutely free to join and you don't need to have done anything like this before. Check out what some of our current members are saying!

You'll have the opportunity to take action on issues that are important to you. Recently, children in care council members have been involved in:

  • Interviewing Cumbria County Council staff
  • Working on projects including mental health and apprenticeships
  • Writing blogs and filming vlogs on issues that are important to them
  • Judging and presenting awards
  • Attending regional and national conferences

The CiCC's meet locally every month, they also get together for County events and activities.

If you want to get involved, or simply want to know more, why not contact us!
