Win up to £2,500 for your school in The Cumbria Pupil Premium Plus Awards

How to enter:

Submit a best practice case study (1000 words maximum) on the use of Pupil Premium Plus (PP+) for children or young people who are looked after (not previously looked after) and be in with a chance of winning up to £ 2,500 for your school.

In your entry, please detail:

  • the context of your school
  • clear examples of how you're using PP+
  • how your school has supported the progress of the child/ren
  • what the impact has been

Your entry can be a case study of an individual child or on the culture, ethos or resources of school as a whole (e.g. training or staffing in relation to the needs of a child looked after). Do not use names or give any other information which may makes it possible to identify the child or other individuals involved. 

In submitting the case study you agree for the Virtual School to share the case study as an example of good practice. 

Awards and prizes

  • Prizes of £ 2,500 for winning schools in north, south and west area of Cumbria and for one school outside of Cumbria.
  • Prizes of £ 500 for second and third place runners up in north, south and west area of Cumbria and one school outside of Cumbria.
  • All schools that enter will be put into a prize draw and two schools from the north, south and west area of Cumbria and for one school out of Cumbria will be picked at random to win a prize of £ 100.

The Awards will be presented at the Designated Teachers Forums:

  • Kendal - 30 October 2019 (to include the draw for out of county schools)
  • Workington - 31 October 2019
  • Carlisle - 4 November 2019
  • Barrow - 6 November 2019
