Resources and Materials

SEND Teaching Support Team (SEND TST) have a wide range of resources for supporting deaf children and young people…. from babies to young adults. These include resources supporting:

  • Listening and attention
  • Vocabulary development
  • Grammatical development
  • Speech articulation
  • Pragmatics (use of language)
  • Non- literal language
  • Understanding and using questions
  • Social and emotional development
  • Reading- from early book making to developing higher order reading skills
  • Phonological awareness and phonics skills
  • Maths and numeracy
  • Writing
  • Early years to post 16 needs
  • Understanding deafness and hearing loss

Resources can be loaned to schools and settings according to the needs of the deaf child or young person.

SEND TST also have a range of training materials available for schools and settings.

SEND TST will provide radio aid equipment when a deaf child/young person will benefit from it.
