Copeland Speed Limit Review

Cumbria County Council is launching a consultation from Monday 10 December 2018 for a period of 5 weeks, to gather feedback and views on proposals to change a number of speed limits in Copeland.

A number of speed limits in Copeland have been assessed as a result of local residents concerns being reported to the council and Police, as well as other changes in the use of the road informed by traffic data.

The proposals include:

  • Extension of the 40mph restriction on the A5086 at Lamplugh
  • Reduction of the length of 30mph at Harras Moor, Whitehaven
  • Introduction of a 30mph in Wilton
  • Introduction of a 40mph on the B5344 near Drigg
  • Extension of the 30mph on the A5093 Millom
