Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Social Care vaccination

We are currently working to ensure that the COVID vaccination is rolled out in accordance with the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) nationally identified priorities.

Working from that we are currently engaged in identifying staff who fall under the definition of social care workers for cohort 2.  This is a narrower definition than that of a key or essential worker:

All frontline social care workers directly working with people clinically vulnerable to COVID-19 who need care and support.

We have been going through the process of identifying and reaching out to potential providers across the sector. If you have not yet been contacted and you believe you fit the criteria above please contact your GP surgery for vaccination bookings.

You will be asked a few questions and if this confirms that you are eligible you will be given an appointment.

A reminder for carers attending appointments booked using the National Booking System at a large vaccination centre or pharmacy site.

If you are attending one of these sites please remember to bring your invite letter, and if possible photographic ID, with you to your appointment. If you do not have photographic ID then please bring some other form of supporting identification with your name and address on - for example a utility bill or a bank statement print out, in order to speed up verification.

If you have booked using the National Booking site but do not have an invite letter, please just bring identification.
