Here at Maudes Meadow we provide quality residential accommodation. The home includes two units both of which have their own dining area and lounge. The home is located near the centre of Kendal with beautiful views over the town and local church.

We are proud to deliver high quality care for our residents. We offer support to families going through difficult times. We also provide guidance to friends and relatives, advising of other support channels available to them.

In March 2017 at our last CQC inspection we were rated Overall Good. Comments from the inspectors included:

  • there was a clear management structure in place and staff were happy with the level of support they received
  • People living in the home were supported to access activities of their choice.

Here at Maudes Meadow we deliver a wide range of activities to our residents including:

Linda Walker, Home Manager - "I'm very proud of the high quality of care we deliver here at Maudes Meadow. 'Care' from a book you can get anywhere, 'care' at Maudes Meadow comes from the heart of everyone working here. Families and friends are welcomed with smiles. Staff and residents have a great rapport, with lots of fun and laughter.

Maudes Meadow is a family friendly home; we not only care for the residents but also the extended families. We want to make a difference every day. Residents have so much to give from their own life experiences.

The home runs for the residents and around the individual needs of each person living at Maudes Meadow. You can feel the calm and friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk through the front door. As the Registered Manager I am filled with pride when I speak to residents and staff and hear how happy they are to be here."

The March 2017 CQC inspection also captured the views of residents and families. See quotes below:

"I have never been better looked after."

"They are lovely."

"I visit weekly, my sibling visits weekly and my other siblings visit fortnightly and we feel that our relative is well cared for."

"It's good, very good, welcoming and I have great care."

"There is a good choice of food."

"The food is excellent quality"

Our cooks are exceptional; they are experienced and well trained especially in dietary requirements for the elderly.

The cooks take into account the likes and dislikes of individual residents as well as any special diets which may be required. The home caters for all diets, and adapts the food on offer depending on resident's medical requirements, cultural differences or personal preference.

All menus are devised with the residents in mind. They are well balanced, nutritional and delicious! Alternatives to the daily menus are always available.

We have treats for birthdays and special occasions. We also provide themed meals to coincide with national events, like scones, strawberries and cream during Wimbledon.
